Throughout the month of October 2018, Swank employees donated children’s clothing and coats for a very worthy local cause – Christopher’s Light. The non-profit organization was started earlier this year by Karen McKendree to help with the needs of local children. The organization is named after her 3-year old son who died of natural causes a number of years ago. McKendree works in the Kiski Area school district and wanted to help those children she saw coming to school with no winter coats, no gloves, clothing with holes and shoes that were torn.
In addition to all the wonderful clothing items collected, we received $600.00 in monetary donations from some very generous employees and Swank Construction. Ms. McKendree expressed her deep appreciation and thanks saying they will be able to help many, many children now and over the upcoming holidays. We thank our employees for taking the time and effort to donate to this worthy cause. If you would like to learn how you can contribute to Christopher’s Light, please visit their Facebook page or their website (currently under construction) at https://christopherslight.com.
